APRIL SUNDAY ACTIVITY CONTEST

For the first time of the year, I had set out for JO70QP at about 680 meters asl. Everything went fine till the moment I plugged the extension cord into the mains of the gasoline power generator. Perhaps, there is a need for a steady power intake to avoid fluctuations in the voltage. The propagation was about at its average standard level. I managed to transmit into both antennas simultaneously, yet with 100 watts into one and 30 watts into the other. Quite a few OM stations was a pleasant surprise, especially when they all came back to my CQing with just 30 watts out in that direction.

To wrap it up, a little under 4000 points for 2 hours and 15 minutes of operation seems to be reasonable given the conditions of unequal power distribution between the two antenna beams.

Looking forward to get ready for the big contests.
